Ocoee River

Raft or Kayak

The Ocoee River has two sections, (upper and middle) that you can raft. They are full of class three and four rapids!  Ask for referrals on rafting companies that will navigate the waters for you. 

Mountain Biking

Brush Creek is located 2.5 miles away and is a great entry level mountain bike trail.  The Tanasi trails start from the Ocoee Whitewater Center.  Some of these trails are included in the Cohutta 100 and Big Frog 65 mountain bike races each year. 

Hiking

From an easy trek to Benton Falls to a moderate climb to the top of Big Frog mountain at 4015 feet, or traverse parts of the 300 mile long Benton Mackaye foot path. There is a trail for everyone.

Shopping

Shop the quaint twin cities of Copperhill, TN and McCaysville, GA and get your photo straddling the state line. There is more great shopping just 30 minutes in either Blue Ridge, GA or Murphy, NC. 

Small Town Fun

Outside of shopping you can visit the Ducktown Basin Museum and learn how the copper mines developed the area. You can try your luck at the Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino in Murphy NC. Take scenic train rides starting from Blue Ridge, GA or Etowah, TN.
